‘Using the element of unfamiliarity, Shimabuku shaved off one eyebrow in the London Underground and then proceeded to tour Europe, in the process shocking many people but also making many friends. This work done, when he was living in Berlin, was an exploration in testing the boundaries  of social conventions and norms.’

I find his work interesting as he kind of used himself as a human guinea pig and try to explore new grounds. I see this as something that would impact people as it is definitely something that they’ll remember. I think this work was about how people would treat and react to you differently due to your appearance.
